Submit A Plymouth County Query

Please read these instructions before submitting your query

A queries page is not a shortcut for research. It is intended to aid those who have already exhausted easily available sources of information and are looking for information from new, obscure or hard-to-find sources. If you submit a query the webmaster may reject it if he decides that you should first pursue other avenues of research.

This queries page is intended only for genealogical research. Please ask specific genealogical questions about specific individuals. General inquiries about families, or inquiries such as searches for living relatives, are not appropriate and will not be posted. Inquiries about twentieth-century individuals may not be accepted because they are too recent.

You must post a valid and unblocked email address with your query. If my email reply to you bounces I will not post your query. Your ISP may be blocking or filtering your email without your knowledge, and I will not post a query unless I have reasonable assurance that responses will reach the person placing the query. Earthlink, in particular, blocks many legitimate responses, so I will no longer accept queries from Earthlink addresses.

PLEASE NOTE that email addresses will be displayed as graphics, not as links. This is done in order to reduce spam and protect the privacy of those posting queries. I have a mechanism in place on the query pages for those who may have difficulty reading the email graphics.

Guidelines for your query:

Make it short and specific - one surname per query, please. Feel free to enter multiple queries.

Put all SURNAMES in your query in CAPITALS and capitalize only the first letter of given names.
Example: Zaccheus PACKARD and Sarah HOWARD.

Include dates (or at least a time frame) for the person and include the names of spouse(s) and children if known.

This page is reserved for queries about people who lived in Plymouth County, but whose town of residence is unknown, or who lived in multiple towns. If you know the Plymouth County town of residence for a person you should post your query to one of the town-specific query pages, if one exists for that town. You must include a valid email address. If my reply acknowledging your query bounces the query will not be posted. Note that your email address will not be stored anywhere on this site in machine-readable form in order to prevent spam. A graphic of your address will be used on the query page.

You will receive a message acknowledging your query. I usually process queries on the weekend. If you do not receive a message from me within a week there may have been a problem with your query.
