WHITNEY.

   NICHOLAS BOWES (Rev. Phinebas = Lydia Bowes), was b. at Shirley, Mass., March 21, 1772.   He was grad. at Har. Coll. 1793, ordained colleague with Rev. Daniel Shute of the second parish in Hing. Jan. 1, 1800, and resigned his pastorate Apr. 15, 1833.   He m. at Acton, Mass., Nov. 1800, Ann, or Anna, dau. of Rev. Moses Adams.   She was b. at Framingham, Jan. 18, 1776, and d. in Hing. 22 Oct. 1864, æt. 89th yr.   He d. 26 Nov. 1835, æt. 64th yr.   Representative 1831 and 1832.   Resided on Main St., So. Hing.
   Ch., b. in Hing., were —

   i.   ANN CATHERINE ADAMS, Jan. 7, 1802.   m. Dec. 25, 1821, Caleb Hersey, and d. 23 May, 1842, æt. 40 yrs.
   ii.   LYDIA BOWES, Aug. 27, 1807, d. unm. 5 July, 1838.
   iii.   BENJAMIN LINCOLN, 1810, d. at Cambridge, 30 May, 1855, æt. 45 yrs.   Was of the firm of Fearing and Whitney, Boston.


   JASON WOODWARD (Reuben P. = Clarissa C. Woodward), b. at Westminister, Mass., Sept. 21, 1829.   m. Nov. 18, 1857, Lydia A. Davis, dau. of john and Adaline (Allen) Davis.   She was b. at Hubbardston, Mass., March 12, 1839.   "Dealer in lumber and hardware" at the harbor.   Resides on North St., near Hobart's Bridge.
