1. CHRISTOPHER of Hull (perh. s. of Robert and Alice of Salem), was by occupation "mariner" or "fisherman." In Philip's War he was one of the brave Capt. Johnson's company. He m. in 1674, Martha, dau. of Elder John Prince of Hull (p. 120), and d. 20 March, 1683-84. His only child, so far as I kn., was

JOHN, first of the name in Hing., was a resident here before the middle of the last century. Tradition says he came from Scit., and that he was a man of industrious habits and of good education. He m. first, July 10, 1746, Sarah Wilcutt, dau. of Philip and Deborah (Gannett) Wilcutt. She was b. in Hing. May 6, 1722, and d. 11 Nov. 1758, æt. 36 yrs. He m. secondly, Sept. 27, 1759, Silence Tower, dau. of John and Esther (Cobb) Tower. She was b. in Hing. June 9, 1728, and d. 25 Apr. 1781, æt. 51st yr. For his third w. he m. Oct. 25, 1781, Mrs. Ruth (Low) Cushing, wid. of Samuel Cushing, and dau. of Ambrose and Sarah (Beal) Low. She was b. in Hing. Aug. 14, 1737, and d. at Coh. 1, or 7, Oct. 1812, æt. 75 yrs. He d. 8 May, 1818, æt. 98 yrs. "Tanner and farmer." Resided on Beechwood St., sec. pre.
