GEORGE MARSHALL (George = Ruth Sprague), a descendant of George who came to Ply. in the "Mayflower," 1620, and after 1643 was of Dux., was b. at Dux. Dec. 2, 1813. He m. in Hing. March 25, 1841, Lucy T. Ford, dau. of Francis G. and Ruth B. (Thomas) Ford. She was b. at Mf'd, July 24, 1821. George M. d. 25 Apr. 1868, æt. 54 yrs. "Merchant;" was of the firm of Sprague, Soule, and Co., Boston. Resided in Hing. on North St., near Thaxter's Bridge.

The only entry upon Hing. rec's relating thereto is as foll.: "Ann Holland, grandmother of Joseph Souter, being in her own account about 96 years of age, died in Cohasset October 3, 1714." Joseph m. in Hing. Apr. 22, 1708, Content Tower, dau. of Ibrook and Margaret (Hardin) Tower. She was b. in Hing. Feb. 13, 1683-84, and d. 18 Dec. 1730, æt. 47th yr. He d. 22 July, 1740. "Shipwright."
