Richard married 2nd about 1691 Elizabeth (Edson) Kingman, daughter of Samuel and Susanna (Orcutt) Edson and widow of John Kingman [WeyHis 4:465].
Mary must have been the child who came on the Diligent, based on the date of birth of her first child.

She married 14-Nov-1665 Taunton Thomas Alger [TauVR 2:356, 549].
Mitchell says that Thomas was from Taunton, perhaps the part that is now Easton, that they settled in West Bridgewater and perhaps had other children.

Thomas married 1st Joan Drake, by whom he had one child [WeyHis 4:560].
Administration of Thomas' estate was granted to his son Israel 06-Oct-1712 [BriProbAbs 1:56] after his wife Hannah was unable to appear due to infirmity of old age, and his son Thomas refused administration.

| 31 | vii | Ephraim4 born about 1685 [WeyHis 4:560]. |
7 Jael2 Packard (Samuel1) born about 1647 probably Hingham [PackFam 11].
Jael bore a son by either Thomas Jones or Nicholas White [PCR 5:112, 118; BriProb 1:47; BriProbAbs 1:4]. Although many researchers assumed that she married first a man named Jones, based upon the will of John Smith, that assumption is disproved by the Court record and by the record of her marriage to John Smith, which reads "John Smith, Senir, married to Jaell Packer, of Bridgwater, the 15th of Nouember, 1672." [PCR 8:59; MD 20:53; TauVR 2:356, 440]. Jael was fined £10 for fornication in the court cases that she brought against Thomas Jones and Nicholas White for having commited "uncleaness" with her [PCR 5:111-112, 118, 128]. This writer doubts that Jael knew which of the men was the father of her first child, as the boy bore the given name of one and the surname of the other [BriProb 1:47; BriProbAbs 1:4].
She married 15-Nov-1672 Taunton [PCR 8:59; MD 20:53; TauVR 2:356, 440] John Smith; died between 03-Jun-1690 (will) and 15-Jan-1691/92 (proved) while serving in Capt. Samuel Gallup's Company in the expedition against Quebec [NEHGR 59:325; 9:354; 13:133]; possibly the son of Henry and Judith Smith who came on the Diligent with Samuel1 and Elizabeth Packard in 1638. John married first Lydia Eliot, daughter of Philip and Lydia (Sybthorpe) Eliot, who died 21-Jun-1672 Taunton [MD 20:52; PCR 8:59; TauVR 3:185], and by whom he had four children.
The will of John Smith of Taunton, dated 03-Jun-1690, proved 12-Jan-1691/92, names his wife's son Nicholas Jones, sons John (under 21) and Seth, and mentions four unnamed daughters. Thomas Leonard of Taunton and brother Samuel Smith of Medfield were executors, and Samuel Smith, Jr. and Samuel Barbour were witnesses. [BriProb 1:47; BriProbAbs 1:4]

8 Deborah2 Packard (Samuel1) born about 1648 probably Hingham [PackFam 11]; died after 01-Jul-1725 (acknowlegement of deed) [MFIPCooke 40].
She married about 1677 [MFIPCooke 40] Samuel Washburn; born about 1652 (died aged 69) Duxbury New Plantation; died 24-Mar-1720 Bridgewater [BriVR 2:574]; son of John Washburn and Elizabeth Mitchell and a fourth generation descendant of Francis Cooke of the Mayflower. Deborah and Samuel were the ancestors of the Maine Washburns.

He married about 1678 Taunton [PackFam 12] Sarah Howard; born 20-Aug-1648 Bridgewater [PAFARec no. S3]; daughter of John Howard and Martha Hayward.
In 1678 Zaccheus was named constable [PCR 5:258]. In 1679 he built a house on what is now the corner of Copeland Street and Samuel Avenue in the Campello (southern) part of Brockton, making him the first settler in the north precinct of Bridgewater.

She married before 29-Oct-1684 (father's will) [MD 15:255] Thomas Washburn; born Duxbury New Plantation [MFIPCooke 39]; died between Mar-1729/30 (will) and 04-Dec-1732 (proved) [MFIPCooke 39-40]; son of John Washburn and Elizabeth Mitchell and a fourth generation descendant of Francis Cooke of the Mayflower. 11 Thomas2 Packard (Samuel1) born about 1653 probably Hingham [PackFam 11]. He was of Bridgewater on 07-Jun-1673 when he owed the Plymouth Colony Court £1 in fines [PCR 8:140]. No record of marriage has been found. He was not named in his father's 29-Oct-1684 will. He was not the same man as British surgeon Thomas Packer of New Hampshire.
| Child (Packard): | ||
| 57 | i | Joseph3 [PackFam 12]. |
12 John2 Packard (Samuel1) born 20-Jul-1655 Weymouth [WeyVR 1:204]; died 16-Mar-1741 Bridgewater [BriVR 2:533]; buried Summer St. Cemetery, Bridgewater [Latham 70].
He married 12-Apr-1688 Taunton [TauVR 2:349, 540] Judith Winslow; born about 1672 (died in 90th year [BriVR 2:533]); died 19-Jun-1761 Bridgewater BriVR 2:533]; buried Summer St. Cemetery, Bridgewater [Latham 70].
Although many authors have attempted to tie Judith to the Winslow family which included passengers on the Mayflower, none have been successful, and her ancestry remains a mystery.
John and Judith lived at South Bridgewater near the bridge in 1688, called after him "Packard's Bridge," later called "Pope's Bridge."

13 Nathaniel2 Packard (Samuel1) born about 1657 probably Weymouth [PackFam 11]; died between 24-Apr-1720 (will) and 05-Jun-1721 (probate) probably Bridgewater [PlyProb #15158].
He married about 1682 [Hitch 58] Lydia Smith; born 10-Apr-1660 Dedham [DedVR 7]; died before 24-Apr-1720 (husband's will); daughter of John and Lydia (Eliot) Smith of Taunton. This is proved by two contemporary records. The first is a 21-Jan-1695/96 receipt in the papers of Thomas Leonard, executor of the estate of John Smith of Taunton, signed by mark by Nathaniel at Taunton, for cooking implements due to Nathaniel's (unnamed) wife from Smith's estate [NEHGR 59:107]. The second is an 09-Mar-1702 deed from John Smith of Taunton, son of John Smith, late of Taunton, to Nathaniel and Lydia Packard of Bridgewater, heirs to the estate of John Smith, "father of said Lydia," for a partial share in Taunton North Purchase which originally belonged to said John Smith, deceased [BriDeeds 4:142].
Nathaniel and Lydia lived at Lake Nippenicket in what is now the northwest corner of Bridgewater [LeonardMemoirs 8]. This was undoubtedly the land lying "Next to Joseph Bassetts lott Neare to the Pond" willed to Nathaniel by his father [MD 15:255]. In 1700/01 Nathaniel was "presented for not frequenting the publick worship of God. Dismissed with admonition paying fees." (Court of General Sessions 6:174) [PlyCourt 1]. Nathaniel was named grand juror for the year 1705 (Court of General Sessions 6:219) [PlyCourt 1].
