Edward Howard 1774, and had Charles 1774, Mary 1776, John 1778, Sarah 1780, Susanna 1783, Oakes 1785.He d. 1786, æ. 41, and his wid. m. Jesse Fobes, 1792.Charles gra. H. U. 1793, and m. Frances McClench, 1796, was an attorney and d. young, leaving an only child, Susanna McClench Howard born 1797; his wid. m. Rev. Dr. Gad Hitchcock, of Pembroke, now Hanson, m. an Angier, cousin probably of the Rev. John Angier.
The name of Alger, often written and formerly pronounced Auger, has been sometimes mistaken for Angier. See Farmer's Register, where Arthur, Andrew, and Sampson Angier are mentioned, the name of each of whom was Alger or Auger, and not Angier.(See Alger.)
