In natures closing hour when man retires
From this dark state, and life's dim torch expires,
None but religion's star can light the same
On high where streams of bliss eternal roll.
357. In memory of Mr. Josiah Allen, who died Jan. the 19th, 1785, in the 43d year of his age. (Son of Josiah, whose mother lived to be 100 years old, and died 1806).
The memory of the pious just
Survives the body, sleeping dust.
358. Isaac Chamberlain, born April 21, 1772, died Nov. 12, 1806.
Charity Bryant, born June 24, 1775, died July 23, 1866.
My father and mother.
359. In memory of two sons of Mr. Isaac Chamberlain and Mrs. Charity, his wife. Alfred; he died March 3d, 1807, in his 4th year. Isaac; he Feb. 3d, 1807, aged 1 year and 8 mo.
360. Lucy Ann, dht. of Daniel and Charity Bryant, died Oct. 4, 1832, æt. 14.
361. Here lies Lydia, daughter of Mr. Caleb Howland, who died March 22d, 1807, in her 16th, year.
Beneath these clods in silent dust
I sleep, where all the living must;
The gayest youth, the fairest face,
Must shortly be in this dark place.
362. In memory of Molly Chamberlain, died Jan. 19, 1828, in her 36 year.
363. Thomas, son of Thomas and Molly Chamberlain died Dec. 2, 1811, aged 10 years and 10 mo.
364. In memory of Molly, widow of Thomas Chamberlain, died Aug. 7, 1840, æ 83 years. (Daughter of Nicholas Whitman).
365. In memory of Thomas Chamberlain, died Nov. 8, 1836, æ 78. (Son of Job).
366. Zeviah, died Sept. 4, 1860, æ 64 years, 11 mo.; Calvin, died Sept. 17, 1863, æ 53 years, 3 mo.children of Thomas and Polly Chamberlain.
Blessed are they who die in the Lord.
367. Here lies Mr. John Wade; he died Nov. 9, 1798, in the 35th year of his age. (Son of Nicholas Wade).
Death is a debt to nature due,
Which I have paid and so must you.
368. Mary, widow of John Wade, died Sept. , 1842, aged 80 years.
The mild and gentle spirit fled,
And she is numbered with the dead.
369. In memory of an infant child, ye daughter of Mr. Robert Daws, Jr., and Lydia, his wife; she died Jan. 5, 1771, aged 3 weeks.
