148 BRIDGEWATER,

[Transcribed by Arthur Richardson]

   11.   In memory of Mr. Zoroaster H. Edson, who died Feb. 19, 1840, aged 56 years.
                     Farewell to all, my days are o'er,
                     With you on earth to meet no more;
                     Cease to weep or shed a tear,
                     Surviving wife and children dear.

   12.   Mary Wales, daughter of Henry and Betsey N. Edson, died Aug. 21, 1828, in her 11 year.
                     Closed is the eye of youthful mirth,
                     A parent's fondest hopes are fled;
                     Scarce done rejoicing at her birth,
                     Ere we must place her with the dead.

   13.   In memory of Nathan Edson, who died Nov. 25, 1825, æt. 19.
                     Could grateful love recall the fleeting breath,
                     Or fond reflection sooth relentless death;
                     Then had this stone ne'er claimed a social tear,
                     Nor read to thoughtless man a lesson here.

   14.   In memory of Dea. Noah Edson, who died Feb. 11, 1816 [1846], æt. 89.
                     It is sweet to believe of the absent we love,
                     If we miss them below, we shall meet them above.

   15.   In memory of Mrs. Keziah, wife of Dea. Noah Edson, who died Feb. 12, 1840, aged 75 years.

   16.   In memory of Mrs. Betty, wife of Mr. Noah Edson, who died Feb. ye 21st, 1784, in ye 24th year of her age.
                     In all the bloom of life I felt
                     Death's fatal arrow pierce my heart;
                     My husband dear and tender babe,
                     I, with them both, was called to part.

   17.   Head-stone.   No inscription.

   18.   In memory of Mr. Samuel Edson, who died Feb. 25, 1801, in his 87 year.
